Ineffable Lullabies by G.G. Alves

I crave your touch

To bare your breath

Dream your dreams

And caress your neck

But your spot in the bed is blank

Existing only to mock the creature you once were

A pillow with no casing

But your head engraved in its feathers

I still feel your fingers upon my ribs

Your beauteous punch at night

When the waves hit the rocky edge

I feel my head resting on your chest
